Our Commitment to Community and Conservation

Our world-class endurance events are transformative journeys through the U.S.'s most breathtaking, remote terrain. Running in these incredible places comes with a responsibility to the people who call them home and to the land itself.

That's why our commitment to the trail running community extends far beyond the finish line. We’re proud to partner with local organizations and land managers in every area we race to ensure our events have a lasting, positive impact.

Trail Conservation and Land Stewardship

We partner with local land and trail associations to support the hard work that goes into keeping these trails pristine for years to come. For example, during the inaugural Arizona Monster 300, we proudly partnered with the Arizona Trail Association (AZTA). As part of this collaboration, we donated $15,000 to the AZTA to fund trail maintenance and other preservation projects.

Supporting Local Organizations Through ArT

At each of our Triple Crown races (Tahoe 200, Bigfoot 200, and Moab 240), we commission a local artist to create an original painting which is raffled off to raise money for a local organization. To date, Destination Trail has donated over $7,000 to this year’s non-profit participants.

We’ve partnered with organizations including:

An original painting created for the Tahoe 200 raffle
An original painting created for the Bigfoot 200 raffle
Table of food at an aid station

Food Bank Donations

After races, we donate all leftover food items to local food banks and community centers. This year, we’ve donated an estimated $8,000 worth of food. In the past, we’ve provided food to:

The Stephen Jones Memorial Scholarship

The Moab 240 was created to honor Stephen Jones, a 200-mile ultra running pioneer who first envisioned a single-loop 200-miler in the Moab desert. After his passing in 2016, Destination Trail and Stephen's family established the annual Stephen Jones Memorial Scholarship.

This scholarship helps support Utah State University students in the Recreation Resource Management program by funding hands-on, experience-based internships. Stephen had a deep love for the Uinta Mountains and the deserts of Southern Utah, and this fund honors that legacy by investing in the next generation of public lands stewards. Since 2017, Destination Trail has contributed more than $50,000 to the scholarship, ensuring that future land managers can learn, protect, and positively influence the places he cared for most.
